I am an experienced Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and Supervisor, accredited with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have worked in various settings including Mental Health Residential Care, NHS secondary primary care (CMHT), voluntary agencies and in private practice for over 14 years.
My working model is Integrative, using techniques adapted from counselling approaches such as, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Rogerian and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. By using this approach I use the 'most effective' parts of a number of theories so the widest range of problems can be tackled, empowering my clients to make better choices for the future.
Finding a counsellor to suit you can sometimes feel difficult and I hope to give you a sense of how I work and what I can offer. *Please note Currently I am not offering face to face counselling due to COVID 19. Telephone Counselling and online counselling are available.
I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor working with individuals face to face, via email, telephone and Zoom. I am able to offer either short or long term therapy depending on your needs. Together we will discuss how your full potential may be achieved and the support that may be required to enable this to happen.
In relationship counselling there can be many issues. Have you been hurt by infidelity or are you having arguments with your partner, that just go round and around? I can work with you to determine what you want out of your relationship, the recurring issues and patterns that hold you both back. We can look at how to move forward positively into the future.
I am experienced in providing clinical & practice supervision to recovery support workers and Counsellors in Australia, London and Devon. I offer individual supervision to trainees and qualified counsellors. Supervision is a professional requirement, it offers a valuable learning forum and reflective space for development.
Walk & Talk
Many clients prefer to walk whilst they talk. Some clients find that the therapy room restricts change and taking the session outside into nature can be more relaxing.
Research studies show that physical activity can enhance clients mental & physical health. Depression & Anxiety levels can be reduced by physical activity.
I am experienced working with EAP's on a freelance basis and I would be happy to discuss potential referrals with GPs, Occupational Health Advisers, Insurance Companies and Employee Assistance Programmes.
This type of counselling works well for clients who find face to face contact difficult or for those who do not have access to a computer or have mobility difficulties. Together we can arrange a scheduled phone call response that will suit your requirements.
